DONNA NOBLE IS A FREAKING SUPERSTAR.
I love her.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE her.
In fact she regularly competes with Rose Tyler for #1 Companion Status in my book.
I love Donna because she’s so ordinary. She’s a petty, overbearing gossip with nothing going for her except a killer typing speed (and the coolest grandfather EVER but that’s beside the point). She’s not high-class, she’s not book-smart, and she doesn’t even think she’s that great half the time. Yet she can stand up to the Shadow Proclamation and say with total confidence that she’s just as important as the Doctor.
There are ENDLESS occasions where she notices things the Doctor overlooked. And every time she does something awesome, it’s not because she grew up next to a crack in the universe or because she has a time head. Her awesomeness always stems from exactly who she is. She chooses the right times to be stubborn, she notices numbers because of her temp work, OH and let’s not forget the time she cleverly hid in a bathroom stall to investigate Adipose while the Doctor was climbing on the outside of the building.
She’s not like Mickey, who had to grow into his BAMFness, she had it all along. She just needed the Doctor to bring it out.
Bonus points for the best platonic relationship like EVER.
I cannot say enough good things about Donna Noble.
